The Good & the Bad - what did you like best? What least?
The best thing about GLS is the actual language course and the teachers who are in my opinion. You have fun class activities and you don't feel pressurized in the classroom. You're also always using your German speaking which was the most important for me. In addition they focus a great deal on the grammer which I also felt was key to improve my German in the short 4 weeks there I feel I got to grips with some key grammer concepts which I had foudn really difficult to grasp before. My only gripe with GLS is possibly when it ocmes t the excursion they do not have a contact number for the person you are meeting at the excursions so there is no way to tell them you are running late or that you can't find them as happend to me, one evening (and they didn't refund me for the excursion even though I was at the correct place way ahead of time, a simple fix which could avoid such issues). My accomodation at the Brandenburg Gate apartments was nice, we did have a problem with our shower which took forever to get fixed. It was also a bit of a hassle having to go to the school first to check in and then get another taxi to go my apartment. But having said that I did find that the staff at the reception desk were the most helpful people at GLS!
Your recommendations for other students
If your looking for a school with excellent teachers and a foucs on grammer GLS is perfect. Also its in a great area of Berlin with easy transport connections and lots of restaurants. As for accomodation, the GLS Campus accomodation is probably nicer than the Brandenburg Gate apartments but thats if I'm being really picky. Overall a great place to learn and explore Berlin.
