The Good & the Bad - what did you like best? What least?

The best thing was not speaking my native language (english) for the entire time that i was at the school. My spoken German has really improved as a result as well as being able to understand more when i am spoken to in German. Being at the school has motivated me to continue learning the language.

Meeting people from other countries with an interest in Germany and the German language was a highlight.

The admin staff at the school were all very helpful, friendly and professional.

One bad thing was that my apartment on campus was too small and felt cramped, and for a 4 week stay!

Also there were not enough channels on the TV in my apartment, just the same shows everyday (I watched TV at night to try and train my ear in the language).

Your recommendations for other students

Try to speak only German when on campus including to classmates or other people that you meet from your own non German speaking country.

Attend the excursions as it gives you the opportunity to see sites cheaply with experienced guides and to get out and about in Berlin.

Go to Stammtisch on Monday evenings!
