The Good & the Bad - what did you like best? What least?

Good: I liked the location of the school and the campus itself. Kastanienallee is beautiful and there are a lot of cool places to visit. Easily accessible by bike from my accommodation at Gesundbrunnen. Our teacher Lara was fun, engaging and energetic. We laughed quite a bit during the lessons.

Bad: I still don't understand whether the canteen was working or not. When I approached it once to throw trash away into the bin by the door, I was asked "Was möchtest du?" by the two workers sitting by the entrance. That seemed pretty rude. Also, the reception workers weren't particularly helpful and didn't seem very happy to be there. The entrance exam does not seem to be particularly accurate or an efficient way to determine the correct CEFR level for the students. There was plenty of time to do the tasks with care and to think, so combined with lucky correct guesses I managed to do some of the tasks at C1 level. The logic of raising or lowering the level is not intuitive and I feel like it results in inaccurate grading. I was sent to a C1.2 course, even though I have only just received a Zertifikat B1 recently and would place myself somewhere between B1 and B2. So I switched to B2.2. I wish the school listened to the students' wishes regarding the correct level and trusted them, especially if they provide an official document proving their skills like a Goethe Zertifikat.

Other: I wish there was more after class activities, discounted tours/tickets for GLS students (e.g. the boat tour) and opportunities to network and make friends, or maybe activities to interact with the locals (not teachers) in German.
