Since when do you work with GLS? How did it start?

GLS promovišemo još od 2008. godine. U početku, ova škola je bila naš logičan izbor zbog velikog broja kvalitetnih jezičkih programa namenjenih tinejdžerima, odraslima i poslovnim ljudima, dok su smeštajni kapaciteti na samom kampusu u centru Berlina bili dodatni benefit. Saradnja Academije i GLS-a učvršćena je i definitvno zapečaćena nakon velikog broja zadovoljnih polaznika.

We have been promoting GLS since 2008. Initially we chose GLS for their broad range of language courses targeting teenagers, adults and professionals; the on-site campus was seen as a welcome bonus. However, it was the satisfaction of our students that finally sealed the deal.

Osnovana 1997. godine, Academia je istovremeno zastupnik vodećih svetskih koledža i jedna od najstarijih i najvećih privatnih jezičkih škola u Srbiji. 

Škole koje zastupamo i promovišemo lično smo obišli i do detalja smo upoznati s njihovim programima i uslugama. Školarine i cene ostalih usluga ne uvećavamo, transparentne su i ne postoje skriveni troškovi. Kada sarađuju s nama, naši klijenti direktno sarađuju sa odabranim školama i koledžima. 

Iskustvo stečeno tokom više od dve decenije u poslu i visoka odgovornost omogućava nam da tokom konsultacija jedan-na-jedan polaznicima ponudimo pravi savet i jezički program koji najviše odgovara njihovim potrebama i budžetu.

Established in 1997, Academia operates both as a language travel consultancy and a private language school, one of the oldest and largest in Serbia. Although our clients are inspired and excited by the power of languages, sometimes they might find studying an uphill and stressful undertaking. Why do your clients book Berlin (and not other places in Germany)?

Zaista nije lako u Nemačkoj odabrati grad za studije! Da li otići u trendseterski Berlin, moderni Minhen, otmeni Hanover, muzikalni Lajpcig, i kako zaboga odoleti Frankfurtu i Kelnu..? 

Najveći broj klijenata koji se opredele za Berlin čine to zbog: a) toga što je Berlin glavni grad, b) što ima zid koji je prvo podelio, pa zatim ujedinio naciju, c) neprevaziđenog streetart-a, d) Čekpoint Čarlija, e) piva, f) jer je Berlin suverena prestonica tehno klabinga, g) ima celo jedno ostrvo s muzejima, h) a jesmo li pomenuli klubove i pivo..?

It’s a tough one! When picking a German city to study in, you’re spoiled for choice. Should you go for trendy, buzzing Berlin, stylish Munich, posh Hanover, and how to resist Frankfurt or Cologne..? 

For most of our clients, Berlin comes first for a) being the capital, b) having the wall that divided then reunited c) awesome street art, d) Checkpoint Charlie, e) beer, f) the supreme world capital of techno, g) a whole island of museums, h) did we mention clubbing and beer…? 
 

What was the last time you met GLS staff? On a fair, a IALC roadshow...?

Sretali smo se mnogo puta tokom godina - na ICEF konferenciji kojoj prisustvuju sve viđenije svetske jezičke škole i koledži, kao i na organizovanim obilascima berlinske škole i kampova za mlade. Naša najskorija poseta bila je u julu 2019. godine kada smo pohađali standardni kurs nemačkog jezika za odrasle. To je bila i prilika da se ponovo obiđe škola i berlinski kampus sa veličanstvenim novootvorenim bazenom. Korišćenje bazena je besplatno za polaznike GLS jezičkih programa.

We have met on numerous occasions over the years - on ICEF workshops and subsequent FAM trips, famous GLS parties - but the most recent visit was in July 2019 when we attended a standard German course and had a tour of the Berlin campus.
 

Your impression of Berlin, especially the GLS district Prenzlauer Berg?

Prenzlauer Berg je verovatno najšarmantnija centralna berlinska četvrt. Ima neku opuštenu, gotovo mediteransku atmosferu gde ljudi provode vreme u baštama mnogobrojnih kafića i butika ili u Mauerparku, a svoju osobenost čuva u dizajnerskim, indie buticima, prodavnicama stripova, nedeljnim buvljim pijacama i uličnim tezgama, i da ne zaboravimo Hokey Pokey - najbolji sladoled u Berlinu. 

Prenzlauer Berg has got to be the most charming of all Berlin residential neighbourhoods. With its numerous cafes and eateries spilling tables onto the streets, indie boutiques, laid-back people on bikes, Mauerpark - not to forget Hokey Pokey, the best ice cream in Berlin - it’s the place to be.
 

?What do you like/dislike about GLS?

Najvažniji kvalitet svake jezičke škole je nastava. Jezičkom edukacijom bavimo se više od dve decenije, i opet smo impresionirani komunikativnim nastavnim metodama u GLS-u. Polaznici su motivisani i od njih se očekuje da sklapaju rečenice već na početnom nivou. 
Pošto je ovaj prvi i osnovni uslov ispunjen, presrećni smo što zastupamo tako kvalitetnu školu sa fenomenalnim smeštajem u jednoj od najlepših berlinskih četvrti.

Let’s not forget that the quality of teaching is the most important aspect of every language program. Being involved in language education for so many years, we are still impressed with the hands-on teaching in GLS classrooms; students are encouraged to speak and produce sentences even at beginners’ level.
