Oranienburg is quite beautiful - the Prussian kings built palaces here, and they came here to relax.

Basicly Oranienburg isn´t much more than an unspectacular small town near Berlin, but it attracts visitors from all over the world.

Even Madonna came here during a concert tour in Berlin. The reason is the concentration camp Sachsenhausen, that the Nazis built here in 1936.

Between 1936 and its liberation by the Red Army on April 27, 1945, around 200,000 persons - political prisoners, Jews, gays, gypsies - were imprisoned there and more than half of them died (online guide).
